Nunda Residents Complain Of Purple Houses

submitted by Edgar Loomis III

Fremont: Huge purple splotches appeared overnight on homes throughout the small town of Nunda last month, costing tens of thousands of dollars in damages. As of now, now source is known for the unsightly mess. Splash patters indicate that the blotches fell from the sky, and were not painted on or thrown from the ground. The first theory on the origin of the stains was jetliner lavatory fluid accidentally jettisoned by an aircraft. This has been ruled out due to the fact that were such an event to occur, the particles would break apart into a barely noticeable mist before reaching the ground, not fall as large masses of liquid. Chemical analysis seems to have also eliminated that as a possibility. Officials now blame large, berry eating birds for leaving the unsightly mess as droppings.

Not everyone believes that. Some residents point out that the splatters are unusually large for birds. In fact, an ornithologist called to the scene said that were this mess to be left by birds, it would take at least 30 birds, each the size of a city bus. Further the birds would have had to consume hundreds of bushels of berries at a time of year when berries are not exactly abundant, and certainly not found in such quantities.
