IOWA'S SENSUOUS CZECH VISIONARY,
SISTER KASI

Dear Sister,

There's this guy at the place where I work who has a pentagram on his car with the word "clergy" beside it, and he wears this t-shirt all the time that says "Orthodox Pagan" or something on it. He never cuts his hair or his nails, and he's always playing this weird card game that has to do with monters and spells. I don't really buy into all this stuff, but I figured you knew more about it than I do. Is this guy dangerous? I mean, I don't think he's going to turn the whole crew into toads, but he seems like he might be potentially "disgruntled"---if you know what I mean---and the last thing this place needs is a body count.

     Dear Wearing Kevlar,

I would say that you have very little to fear. This sort of person who is so flamboyant about their involvement in non-Christian beliefs and practices while "acting out" via magic oriented card games is probably very serious about their interests, but not of sufficient power to pose a great threat...yet. I would advise against any direct confrontation over dress and so forth. This type of person usually has a pet that they will consider a "familiar", and do everything they can to bring that pet everywhere they go, even the work place. If there is a way to keep such a pet out of the work place, you will have an easier time. Further, they are obsessive collectors of information, and will eavesdrop constantly. I'm sure you have noticed this already. The minor magician can't use information gathered directly so don't say anything important around this person, or where it can get back to them easily. Also, and this is very important, NEVER say the person's name out loud. This is considered an invitation. Lastly, a favorite trick is to get into your dreams. You mustn't discuss your dreams at work, under any circumstances, and if he starts showing up in your dreams be careful not to reveal any information or have any contact with him there. Dream mastery is difficult, but an important self defense technique when dealing with personalities such as this. Until you are able to wake yourself up from a dream or assert control over your mind while dreaming, I would reccommend investing in several large "dream catchers" to hang over your bed at night. Good luck, sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite.

     Dear Kasi,

Is there a simple form of divination magic that I can use to predict the future?

Wondering About Tomorrow in Walthill, NE

     Dear Wondering,

Yes, there are several methods of divination that are quite easy to master, but the simplest is the use of the pendulum. The pedulum works with Auric Vibrations, the energy field surrounding the body of the person holding the pendulum. Its very similar to dousing. The Mighty Kreskin marketed a childrens game based on the principle, but it is now very difficult to find in stores. I heard that six marines stationed in Germany were courtmartialed as a result of using the Kreskin game to divine Ultra Top Secret information about the project they were working on which then caused them to desert. After their trial they were allowed honorable discharges, due to the accuracy of the information they got from the pendulum, but live under constant fear for their lives if they ever reveal it, so be careful. Simply use any weighted object and a line of some sort---crytals and other natural substances work best. Place it on your altar for a few days to get it charged with your psychic energy and then experiment to "tune" the pendulum---finding the correct spot on the string from which to hold it (where it swings briskly) and where the "yes" and "no" directions are. Do this by asking a few questions to which you already know the answer. It always helps to bless the pendulum and ask the Goddess for assistance, but with this method you will be very quickly ready to do some serious divining.
