VALERIE DUCHAMP: TRAITOR

submitted by Staff

Johnson: When members of an organization realize that one amongst them does not share their philosophy, they wonder why that individual joined in the first place. And when they realize that that individual was working against the organization in some manner all along, they have every right to be outraged. And when the organization never realizes that there is a traitor amongst them, then the most havoc can be wreaked. It is this last scenario that collapsed the Limbo group, one of the area's most diligent UFO research organizations, third only to IUFORN and the National MUFON (see: Men in Black Exposed, Iowa's UFO Connection, Pt. II, December, 1997, vol. 4, Issue #12).

William Posey IV was present at Limbo's underground hideout when it was overrun by an unknown paramilitary group seeking to silence the UFO researchers. Only he and a young computer programmer/hacker by the name of Valerie DuChamp escaped amidst the chaos and tear gas. At the time Posey considered himself extremely lucky. But recent events have shown his fate to be more orchestrated than fortunate.

The level of deception in this scenario is at such a high pitch that even we do not know the full extent of it. But some clues are starting to surface. Enter FBI Special Agent Carson Speedwell, who sent this letter to the Third Eye offices recently in an attempt to protect the magazine from treacherous forces within:

I hope this missive finds you before it is itself discovered by other, more insidious forces. I am Special Agent Carson Speedwell, of the FBI. I have worked with the Bureau since 1944, making me one of its elder statesmen. My assignments over the years may seem more like something from science fiction rather than typical government work, and I am therefore rather reluctant to divulge most of what I have seen. Not only would my stories appear fantastic to the general public (even to the readers of this magazine), but I would risk breaching my national security oath, the fallout of which I can ill afford at my age. But I can share with you some information, information that I hope will result in your disassociation with one of your members.

First of all, I can tell you that I have been seen in your publication before. Remember that unidentified government agent present at the alien autopsy in 1947 in Palo alto County? That man was none other than myself. I have been involved in that and subsequent matters since, and have written classified documents that make Project Blue Book look like pulp fiction. I can tell you this: not all parties interested in UFOs and aliens are created equal. The military has its agenda, as does the FBI. So do other governments and private industries. Overlap is inevitable, and this breeds confusion, to be sure. I am not here to clear all that up. I am warning you about a certain Valerie DuChamp. She is not, and has not been, what she seems.

Ms. DuChamp did in fact receive her Masters in Computer Science from Georg von Podebrad College at the age of twenty-one. In the past five years she has truly become an expert in her field. Did she work for Limbo? Yes. Was she loyal to the organization? No. No one ever thought to raise the question at the time, but here it is: how was Limbo discovered? Was its location not supposed to be ultra-secret? The only logical explanation is the presence of a mole: Valerie DuChamp. It was DuChamp who, through the use of a few keystrokes on a computer, alerted the force that came swooping down on Limbo like a ravenous hawk. And it was in this capacity that she was allowed to leave the Limbo facility uncaptured and unharmed. That she allowed William Posey IV to escape with her was a calculated move. I believe she intended to use him to spread disinformation on the nature of UFOs and alien activity in Iowa.

Now the ultimate question must be: who does DuChamp work for? I am privy to the knowledge that at one time, DuChamp worked in a computer networking/information-gathering position at P-21. P-21, it must here be noted, was and is not directly opposed to the activities of Limbo. For reasons too deadly to describe, I will simply make it known that P-21 does have a certain beef with Aerodyne Propulsion Laboratories.

Yet I am almost certain that DuChamp was still working for P-21 when she contacted them and had a branch of their security wing erase Limbo from the face of the Earth. And this almost undoubtedly tied to the sphere that the Men in Black had removed from the rock quarry near Irish Grove.

I can tell you nothing further.

So, Misters Abbadon, Ristau, Trollinger, Campbell and the rest of the staff at Third Eye Over Iowa: I urge you to take a long and serious look at Ms. Valerie DuChamp and decide if she is truly the kind of presence you wish to support in your employ. Caution now could save your very existence in the future

Thank you for your time & God bless

     Carson Speedwell

A meeting amongst Third Eye staff was held almost immediately. There, Valerie DuChamp was grilled by a panel consisting of the editor, publisher, senior writers, and mainstays such as Col. Harrison Campbell, Gaetano Ardenti, William Posey IV and Abagail de la Badie. Naturally, Hans Abbadon himself was in attendance.

Each panel member took turns asking DuChamp about previous employers, former personal experiences with the paranormal, her knowledge of the Palo Alto saucer crash, any connection she may have to the U.S. government, and so on. She was stalwart, and refused to answer most of the questions posed to her. Clever wordplay concocted by Ardenti revealed one interesting tidbit, however. DuChamp let slip that the Men in Black and the military unit with them at the quarantined rock quarry were not in any way allied with the group that silenced Limbo. Yet she would not confirm or deny Speedwell's allegation that she had, or was currently working for, P-21.

After several hours of grueling examination, it was decided by a unanimous staff vote that DuChamp was untrustworthy and therefore unfit to continue to have liaisons with Third Eye Over Iowa. She was summarily banned from the offices, and forced to relinquish any sensitive files from the offices that she had in her possession.

In a further move, William Posey IV dismissed her from the Alternate Reality Project, a move which is now forcing ARP to move their laboratories near Georg von Podebrad College to a new, secure location. Unfortunately, this move will result in delays in certain projects the ARP is currently developing. Third Eye hopes to report these intriguing stories soon.
