A Letter to the Editor

Dear Sirs,

Certain recent phenomena-mostly undisclosed to the "normal" press-suggest extraordinary events about to occur are more than mere coincidence.

     FACT #1: A year ago or so, a certain Brother of a very ancient and highly secret society-of which I cannot divulge its name on pain of death-has vanished, carrying with him a whole stack of Third Eye Over Iowa magazines-several of which are multiple copies of vol. 4 Issue #2 (February, 97-the blue one). The cover of this very issue as well as vol. 4, Issue #1 (January 97) contained inscriptions on the front covers similar to certain gateway spells as described in Laneville's Gate to Hell.

     FACT #2: Several bizarre occurrences involving these issues have been reported by readers. Third Eye has warned readers about the dangerous exposure of these hell-spawned issues to powerful Electro-Magnetic fields. One negligent reader gripped by potent command hallucinations now resides at Massaraty Asylum.

     FACT #3: The mainstream press has widely reported that a total eclipse of the sun is to occur this August 11. This veils Truth. True to the prediction of Nostradamus, an asteroid approximately 10km in diameter and concealed by the shadow of the Moon-aptly called a "planet killer"-will stealthily hurtle into the Earth's stratosphere on that very day!

     This Apocalypse has been precursed by numerous smaller meteors passing over the Midwest and Iowa. One was even sighted by Col. Harrison Campbell. Contrary to most rumors, Col. Campbell is not a crazed sterno-bum but a respected mentor to many of the top minds in this country's military intelligence. He has bravely disobeyed direct orders from his superiors and cunningly leaked this vital information to the press in such a way so that no one will ever be able to attribute it to him. For this noble and selfless patriotic act, we are grateful.

     FACT #4: The path several of the larger of these meteor-objects have taken now points unmistakably towards Emmetsburg, Iowa. Strangely, there are no reported impacts. We believe some thing has landed!

     FACT #5: Those of us familiar with the missing person knew he was literate in many unearthly mysteries-mysteries we regarded initially as too much Amontillado. His sagacity in such arcana suggests he knew only too well the power inherent in the inscriptions of the fell January and February issues. His library on such matters was extensive; his contacts with those pursuing similar dark and guarded knowledge numerous as well.

     We believe this man unlocked the secret gateway into an alien universe solely by manipulating what appears to most folks as nifty squiggly lines. Has he gone to aid these aliens in some way at Emmetsburg to save our world from annihilation? Has he been taken away by these beings?

     Those of our society who daily risk our lives and sanity for the sole purpose of guarding Human Life urge you to warn your readers to watch! Dark forces, mysterious and potent, will soon take-for lack of an accurate term-a hand!
