Weird Noise On Cell Phone

     Identified As Missing Reporter

Palo Alto: On August 10, a Senior Third Eye Staffer confirmed to Iowa State Police that the voice heard on cellular phone transmissions in the area of Old Town is indeed that of missing Third Eye Correspondant Leslie Shepard. Ms. Shepard and three members of the Palo Alto Emergency Response Crew disappeared without trace in the bizarre and unstable area of what has become known as "Black 11". The voice, first described as "weird garbling" by area cellular phone users, was later electronically isolated and enhanced by an as yet undisclosed Federal Agency. Six transmissions were made, one every hour on August 2. It is not known if Ms. Shepard owned a cell phone herself. The content of most the transmissions is fragmentary at best, however, one phrase "can anybody---" was said to be clearly audible. The location of the mysterious transmisisons have been equally problematic as the best efforts of local, state, and federal law enforcement agents have discovered simultaneous signals coming from all parts of the phenomena called "Black 11".

The editorial staff and Publisher have been working hard to recover Ms. Shepard and 3 Emergency Response Crew members. Third Eye is will to talk to any individual who may have information on the whereabouts of these four people.
