TREATY WITH ELVES NEGOTIATED

Kossuth: Road workers are back at work after a streak of heavy equipment accidents last month during the construction of the four-lane Cresco Bypass. The planned route of the highway took it through a clump of trees regarded by locals as the home of a clan of elves and has cost both the state and county millions in damaged equipment and lost time. Seven men have been injured, one remians hospitalized in serious but stable condition when his road grader was suddenly overturned. A psychic, who asked to be left anonymous, negotiated with the elves on the County's behalf and an agreement was reached. No word on the details, but the clump of trees remains and there is a mysterious bend in the current path of the road. Funds have also been reallocated for reforestation all along the roadway in this area.
