New Bookstore Opens In Iowa City

submitted by Raihn St. Clair

Johnson County: A strange new bookstore has opened in Iowa City, called The Mystic Eye. The proprietor is a dark-skinned, but extremely handsome foreign gentleman by the name of Azri Elliard. Neighbors of the bookstore say Mr. Elliard is the kindest man they've ever met, but there's something strange happening in that house. Lights are seen at all hours of the night, and strange moaning or wailing sounds are sometimes heard.

"I was walking home about 1 a.m. last Friday night, and saw a strange green glow in the upstairs window." says Mable March "I called the police because I thought it might be a burglar. They went over and didn't find anything there at all. Next morning Mr. Elliard came over and told me that he sometimes comes in and reads at night, so I shouldn't worry about lights at all hours. I tell ya though I didn't see his car there, and there was something weird about that light. Gave me the willies to look at it."

"Maybe the neighbors are just bothered by my choice of subject matter, or maybe it is because I don't serve coffee," replies Azri with a captivating grin. The Mystic Eye deals in rare or out of print occult references. Some of Mr. Elliards oldest tomes are not for sale, but can be copied or read on the premises. So far there has been no real cause for complaint, and Mr. Elliard has been more than helpful to his customers. Several university students have used Mr. Elliards' reference library to complete school projects on occult subjects. "I was looking for a book about ancient Sumerian sacrificial rites, and couldn't find one anywhere." states Paul Goddard, a student at the University of Iowa. "Not only did Mr. Elliard have a book on the subject, he also had some old scrolls from the 1300's and clay tablets in the original Sumerian. he sat right down and helped me read them. I really owe that guy, I got an A on the project."

Some Third Eyestaff members have found Azri to be a great resource featuring the most complete occult/paranormal library outside of George von Podebrad College.
