     Arson Fires Delay Publication

Because of arson activity near Third Eye Over Iowa offices in Iowa City as well as the blaze at the Mill Resturant (see: Are We In Danger?, June, 1997, vol.4, Issue #6), we have been forced to shut down our offices and evacuate our large inventory of records and files to secure locations through out the state.

The suspicious fires began in mid-July when local firefighters were called to douse a burning couch in the alley of the 500 block of S. Dodge St---within sight of several Third Eye Over Iowa staff reporters' homes. Two days later, a garage was burned on Summit St. Early on July 16, a garage on S. Johnson St. was set ablaze; an hour later an empty house on Walnut was torched followed soon after by another garage on Marcy St.

To the untrained eye, these fires may appear as random acts. However, when plotted on a map of Iowa City, a zig-zag pattern emerges, running northwest to southeast which intimated to us that the first leg of a firery "X" was being burned into the town, the center of which being the Third Eye Over Iowa offices.

As with the Mill fire, we are examining several leads. Because the fires ultimately involve the insurance industry, we suspect a secret German Hydrology Engineering Organization might be involved as it is well known for its influential investments in the American real estate insurance markets. Accelerant residuals from the fire on Walnut Street point to the Russian Mafia. This does not rule out that the fires were the acts of a lone derranged individual with an axe to grind against this publication. Still, other dangerously sensitive leads are being carefully examined. Third Eye remains comitted to informing its readers about our investigations and welcomes every assistance.
